Child Support

A. Child support is based on a percentage of a maximum $7,500.00 monthly net income:

20% for 1 child, 25% for 2 children, 30% for 3 children, 35% for 4 children, 40% for 5 children and up. These percentages will change if the parent paying support has other children under the age of 18 not before the Court.

C. The Office of The Attorney General of the State of Texas

publishes tax charts each year that provide the amount of income tax and social security/medicare taxes that shall be deducted from gross income. To view these charts to obtain the specific numbers that will applied to your gross income, please go the Attorney General's website.

D. In addition to taxes, a deduction is made for the child's health insurance premium.

Only the premium paid for the child involved in the pending divorce is deducted. If the person paying child support has children from another relationship, the amount attributed to the children is divided by the number of children covered as dependents.
